Stephen Loyden, 51, of the Iona Lake section of Franklin Township, passed away on Thursday morning, June 14, 2012, at home.
Steve was born in Camden, raised in Cherry Hill and had resided in Franklin Township for the past 15 years. He was the son of the late Rose (Albanese) and Paul J. Loyden Sr. He was also predeceased by his son, Stephen; sister, Paula; and a niece, Britton Loyden.
Steve was a graduate of the Camden County Vocational School. He worked as a commercial truck driver. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local No. 107, Philadelphia, and previously had worked for Penn Trucking Co. Steve was good with his hands and enjoyed working in construction, gardening and working in his yard. He loved cars, racing and going "routin."
Survived by his wife of 17 years, Candy (Young); son, Jay (Kandace) Hurley; daughter, Julie Hurley; grandchildren, Gerritt, Aislinn and Caleb; brothers, Paul (Terri) Loyden of Newfield and Richard of Florida; sister, Vivian of Houston, Texas; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 S. Main Road, Vineland, where his memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Cremation and inurnment will be private.
