Walter F. Nicke Jr. died at home Tuesday morning, March 12, 2013.
Born in Millville Hospital on June 5, 1931, he was the son of Walter F. Nicke and Mary Taylor Nicke Osborne and was a resident of Millville all his life. He attended Millville public schools and graduated Millville Memorial High School with the Class of 1948. He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955 and returned to Millville to continue over a 46 year career with Wheaton Glass Company. Upon retiring in 1997, he was quality control manager of Wheaton Glass in the Millville operations.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Mae Peterson Nicke of Millville; his grandson, Justin K. (Caitlin) Nicke; and great-grandson, Justin K. Nicke Jr. of Vineland; a special niece, Rae Ann (Hurlen) Whittenburg, her children, Chuck Whittenburg and Charlene Beaty; and daughters, Tiffany Shelby and Kayla Beaty, all of Tennessee. He was predeceased by his son, Kerry E. Nicke.
A graveside service will be held at Haleyville Cemetery on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Peterson officiating. There will be no public viewing.

Arrangements are being handled by Hoffman Funeral Homes, Port Norris.
