Nancy Tyler Obituary

Nancy L. Tyler, affectionately known as "Fancy Nancy", passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at home under the care of Hospice of Michigan, her children, and some very special independent caregivers. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on October 17, 1939 and graduated from Creston High School in 1957. This funny, loving, smart, and witty woman brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. Nancy had the uncanny ability to turn any situation into a memorable moment, often crowned with her quick-witted one-liners, for which she was fondly referred to as the "Queen of One-Liners". Her profound love of life was deeply rooted in the simple pleasures; a good country music song, a captivating book, an engaging computer game, or a winning round of Bingo. She had an adventurous spirit, often seen in her love for road trips around Michigan and beyond. For 16 years, Nancy worked in donations and with volunteers at the Hospice of Michigan in Grand Rapids. Known for her warm heart and caring spirit, she retired in 2012, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and dedication. Her zest for life didn't end with retirement; she continued to live every day to the fullest, line dancing, loving her dog Skeeter, and occasionally hitting the casino. She was a beacon of energy and positivity, always reminding those around her of the beauty in each day. Nancy is survived by her children, Michael, Sheena, Jerry, and Terry; her sister, Jackie (Nick) Creveling; and her daughter-in-law, Veronica Cordova. She was a cherished grandmother to Lee (Christina) Tyler, Darcy Tyler Banister, Valerie, Jason, Julianne, and Dedi Tyler; and great-grandmother to Blake and Tyler Banister. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret Mulder, and her loving husband, Gerald (Jerry) Tyler. Nancy's legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched with her humor, love, and wisdom. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Nancy's life beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post No. 101, 1320 W. Washington Street (M-57), Greenville. To send a message to the family, sign Nancy's online guest book, or to share a favorite memory, please visit:

When I first started recalling having any memory at all, she has always been there and was the best grandma I could've ever asked for!
