Paul Eugene Lazarus II

Obituary for Paul Eugene (Ike) Lazarus II April 1, 1941 – January 23, 2025 Ike passed away on Thursday morning peacefully at home. He was born at home on North County Line Road in Montcalm County to Paul & Virginia Lazarus. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Mary Elizabeth (Howell) Lazarus. They were blessed with 59 1/2 years of marriage. He is survived by his 5 children, Jewel (Dereck) Higa of Henderson, Nevada, Angela (John) Mattox . of Hampton, Virginia, Michele (Charles) Wilson Jr. of Bryan, Texas, Echo (Clayton) Thomson Jr. of College Station, Texas, and Paul (Gwen) Lazarus III of Benton City, Washington. He had 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren which he loved dearly. He was a lifelong dog lover, he will be missed by Happy 2. He drove over a 1,000,000 miles in his own semi and many more miles in other semis. He was also an operator of heavy equipment and could operate anything painted yellow. He worked on the project that created the St. Louis Arch. He was a union man and retired from the Teamsters and the Operating Engineers Unions. He was one of the early drivers at Crystal Raceway driving and maintaining many different cars starting with "OO 2 Short". He was a shade tree mechanic and could fix, weld, and repair just about anything. Often times he didn't charge anything or very little as it didn't take long or he already had the stuff to fix it. The knowledge he took with him is immeasurable and immense. He was known for being the man who would help anyone who needed helping. He couldn't pass by anything laying in the road without backing up to see what it was and usually taking it home. He was an avid nature enthusiast and hunter of deer and Moral mushrooms. He will be greatly missed by many.

Memorial service will be held at the
Freedom Way Church of God in Crystal
Saturday - February 8th at 11:00am with lunch following.
