Robert Frederick Lash, Jr. "Bob", age 72 of Maryville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN with his family at his side. Bob was born on November 29, 1949, in Staten Island, NY. He grew up in Knoxville, TN, and graduated from South High School and the University of Tennessee. Bob was very proud of his corporate consulting and organizational development business, Strategic Resources, and the many professional and personal friendships he developed over the years. The things that brought Bob the most joy were being with his family and playing with his grandkids. He loved everything outdoors, hiking, camping, kayaking, and sitting on the cabin screened porch watching for wildlife in Townsend. Bob loved the beach and the clear blue water on 30A, and visiting the National Parks, especially his own Great Smoky Mountains. Bob has been described by those that knew him best as quiet, patient, analytical, smart, funny, sarcastic, adventurous, athletic and the best wedding dance partner. Bob was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church and was involved with multiple groups including Friends of the Smokies, Great Smoky Mountain Association, Maryville Rotary, Knoxville Rugby Football Club, and Experience Your Smokies. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert F. Lash, Sr. and Katherine P. Lash; his brother, John S. Lash; his father-in-law, Charles Edward Gregory; and his brother-In-law, Jerry W. Whitehead. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Denia Henry Lash; his dear children, Jennifer Lash Anders and husband, Brad of Knoxville, Adam W. Henry and wife, Chelsey of Maryville, and Aaron M. Henry and wife, Callyn of Knoxville; and his beloved grandchildren, Addie Anders, Aliana Henry, Charlie Henry, Charlotte Henry, Bennett Henry, Caroline Henry and Cooper Henry; sister, Susie Lash; mother-in-law, Edith Gregory Lynn; sisters-in-law, Jeannie Lash, and Amy Gregory Moore and husband, Jim; niece and nephews Shelby Lash, Carson Lash, Joshua Yoakum and Joseph Yoakum. Service at New Providence Presbyterian Church, 703 W Broadway, Maryville, TN 37801 on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. with a receiving of friends immediately following the service. Denia and the family want to thank the UT LifeStar nurses, Kellee Cronan and Kurt Wieger, and our pilot Chris Schneider, as well as the amazing Vanderbilt ICU doctors, nurses and staff for their compassionate and excellent care for Bob.
