Dear Margot -
I was saddened to hear of Alan's death when I returned from a vacation. I knew him for many years as a member of the Chorus of Westerly, and enjoyed him enormously. I remember particularly doing a duet of Mozart's "La Ci Darem La Mano" with him at the opera party some years back. I'm nearly six feet tall, and before we started the duet Alan brought out a footstool and stood on it so our voices would be at the "same level." It really cracked me up.
Alan was a wonderful man, and he will be sorely missed. My deepest sympathy to you and all your family.

Dear Margot,
I have many memories of a wonderful classmate at South Kent;
singing with him in the Glee Club, watching his brave activity in football games, and the two of us butchering verb forms in French class where he was known as "Monsieur Plus Vert." And many years later reconnecting in Mystic and Westerly thus meeting you, his amusing, sweet, and supportive wife. Sylvia and I regret that we never persuaded the two of you to visit us in Savannah for the truly stellar Music Festival.
Sylvia and I will miss your good man Alan.

My heart goes out to the whole Greener family. We have been blessed by the wonderful daughter you raised in Sarah, and I know you are responsible for such a magnificent angel on earth. I wish I'd gotten to meet Alan to tell him my personal thanks, but I am sending up prayers of peace for all of you, and lots of hugs to Sarah!

To Margot and the Greener Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I have many great memories working with Alan at his office in Mystic. He was very proud of his family and shared many stories with me over the years. He was a respectful and first class gentleman.
