We have so many good memories of "Uncle Alex" visiting Bellingham in recent years. He was indeed full of life and passionate about learning and heritage and enjoying life to its fullest. As Dad's cousin he became a fun extended member of the family. I'll think of him as we look at his watercolor of a beach scene. We'll miss you, Uncle Alex. with love, Ann, Gary, Gladys, Jane

Our condolences to all of Alex's family, friends and loved ones. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We are grateful for his dedicated and long service to our country in the U.S. Submarine Force. He qualified in submarines on the USS Cochino SS-345 in 1948 and retired from the Navy as ETCS(SS). May God bless you with peace and fond memories, comfort you and heal the broken hearts. To our "Brother of the Dolphin", a member of the Holland Club having been qualified in submarines for more that 50 years, we say, "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Rest in peace." -- Rev. Ray Fritz, National Chaplain United States Submarine Veterans, USSVI.

Ron and Sharon - sorry for your loss of a special dad/gramps - he indeed was a very unique man and highly involved in lots of interesting things - he loved life and lived a good one and he was fortunate to see his children settle in life with families. He also enjoyed his grandkids and great grandkids, sweet! RIP, Mr. Doucette as you will be greatly missed by all.
