Barbara Wetherbee Obituary
Barbara graduated from Robert E. Fitch Sr. High School in the Class of 1949. She was employed by the Town of Groton Housing Authority for 17 years. She was instrumental with providing elderly housing Pequot Village, Grasso Gardens I and II . Grasso Gardens II was dedicated to her. She enjoyed crafts and antique dolls; and she was a big bingo fan.
Barbara is survived by a son, Mark.
All services are private. Donations in her memory may be directed to Women and Infants Hospital, 101 Dudley Street, Providence, RI 02905. Byles-Groton Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dear Mark,
I´m so sorry to hear of your Mom´s passing and sending thoughts and prayers.
It seems like yesterday we were docked across from your Mom and Dad during our "younger"years (at that time, was Andy and Joanne Anderson) and fondly remember many excursions to Sag Harbor, Montauk, Block and even rafting at times, close to home. Didn´t make a difference where we were, always had a good time! Many of my favorite memories are those with your folks and those are very dear to me!

I used to work for Mrs Wetherbee at Pequot Village when I was in High School. I remember her as a kind person. My prayers to her family in this most difficult time.

Many years ago, your father and mother were docked next to Marcia and I at Shennecossett Yacht Club and we all got to know each other each other quite well. We fished but mostly enjoyed cocktails in the evening and more than once finished the evening at Fishers Island. Coming home in the dark was always a thrill especially passing between Pine Island and Bushy Point. Somehow we survived it all and hoped that our children did not follow our footsteps. Good memories are never fogotten.

I worked in Bingo and I remember Barbara very well we had a lot of laughs together and she was always fun to be around i send my sympathies to her family May God bless you and I hope Barbara will have a pleasant journey to heaven
