Bernard Pollack Obituary
He was born on May 24, 1925, in New York City, to Irene and Albert L. Pollack. Known as "Bernie" to family and friends, he was married to his wife Lita for 64 years. Bernie served in the U.S. Airforce during World War II and is a Purple Heart recipient.
Along with his wife, Bernie is survived by his daughters, Ilene Fridling and her husband, David, of Lower Gwynedd, Pa., Susan Pollack of Alexandria, Va. and Mindy Pollack-Pope and her husband, Brian, of Old Lyme. In addition to his daughters, Bernie leaves behind six grandchildren, Lauren and Rebecca Fridling, Isabel Pollack and Stephanie, Rachel and Jonathan Pope; as well as two great-granddaughters, Zyiana and Sky Croft.
Arrangements have been made with the Connecticut Cremation Service and Bernie's ashes will be scattered in his favorite place, Maine.
Ed was the son of Betty (Forbes) Burge of Groton and the late Edward G. Burge. For many years, he had worked in the construction industry as a driller and blaster.
Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St., Groton, is assisting his family with arrangements which are incomplete at this time.

Miss Lita and Mindy,
I am truly sorry for your loss. I will always remember Mr Bernie, for he always made me laugh whenever I would see him. He will always be with you.

Lita Bernie is in a better place. You took very good card of him. He was lucky to have you...we are lucky ones at the Lymes' Senior Center, too, to have you....We are here...always..Judy
