Charles Kaika Obituary

Branford - Charles Kaika, 65, of Branford, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

He was born in New London, April 18, 1949, a son of the late Peter and Bertha (Bajek) Kaika and was a graduate of Waterford High School, Class of 1967. He had been employed by Computer Sciences Corporation until his retirement.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Debbie Kaika, and Walter and Susan Kaika; his nieces, Lindsey Kaika, Valerie Kerr and her husband, Chris, and Melissa Knight and her husband, Jamie; his nephew, Ryan Kaika; his former wife, Marilyn Shuma; Marilyn's children, Meghan Pierce and her husband, Joseph, and Matthew Shay; and his grandchildren, Benjamin and Maddox Pierce, Kellen Shay and Gianna Williams.

His family will receive relatives and friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
