He was the husband of the late Barbara (Keener) McLaughlin.
Mr. McLaughlin was born in Girard, Ohio, on Jan. 10, 1928.
Clarence served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He retired as a nuclear inspector at Electric Boat in Groton after 28 years.
Mr. McLaughlin was a member of the United Congregational Church of Westerly and a member of the Men's Club of the Church. He also served as past commander of the North Stonington VFW.
Clarence was a founding member of the North Stonington Ambulance Association. He was an avid boat modeler
He will be sadly missed by his five daughters, Susan McLaughlin of East Hampton, Ruth McLaughlin, of Norfolk, Va., and Carrie Triba, and Rachel McLaughlin, both of Norwick, and Rebekah Gelfond, of Naugatuck. He also leaves seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and his beloved dog Ginger.
He was pre deceased by his son, William McLaughlin.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the United Congregational Church, 9 Castle Hill Way, Pawcatuck. Burial with full military honors will be private in Union Cemetery, North Stonington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Congregational Church, 9 Castle Hill Way, Pawcatuck, CT 06379.
Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly, is in charge of arrangements.

I am so sorry to hear about Mack(Dad). I truly loved him. Jim and I did not learn about his passing until last night at 9:30. We would have liked to come to the church service. He is now in a better place with your Mom and Bill. Take care of yourselves, Love to you all.
