Constance DiMarco Obituary

North Stonington - Constance "Gail" DiMarco, 67, passed away at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla., June 15, 2021, after a 25-month battle with cancer. Born in Ballston Spa, N.Y., Gail resided in North Stonington many years before moving to Citra and later, Lake City, Fla.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dennis; son Daniel, age 49; daughter Dana, age 41; and grandchild Amber, age 15.

Gail's entire adult life was dedicated to her faith, her family and service to others. As a young single mom, she and her mother owned two fitness salon franchises in Waterford and Old Saybrook and later started her own fitness classes at various YMCAs in Southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island. Gail enjoyed careers as a realtor, certified personal coach, and volunteering at a women's shelter. After moving to Florida, Gail became a board member of her son's non-profit veterans' organization "Soldiers Freedom Outdoors" and spent much time with Dan and her beloved granddaughter Amber. Always missing her daughter, Gail rejoiced every time Dana and son-in-law Mark visited from Charlestown, R.I.

In retirement, Gail's joys included walking her beloved dog "Reagan," tending her flowers and being with her husband Dennis, with whom she loved to travel and shared a love of nature. Wherever they went however, Gail often said Connecticut would always be her home.

Gail's absolute legacy was kindness and loving everyone. Anyone that knew Gail understood her faith was her guiding light. She was deeply involved in her church throughout her life, ministering to many and sharing the Gospel.

R.I.P. our beloved Gail.

It's Hard to believe it has been two years since Gail's passing. She will always be missed as a person who fit so well into all of our lives. Her beautiful smile and caring soul made her so special. Miss all of those special moments together. And, how important you were in my daughters lives. They are the ladies they are today mostly because of you always took the time out to be there for them. And, for sharing your personal time with them by planning beautiful outings with them. Girl, you will always be part of our hearts.

The world lost a very special person today ... "Auntie Gail," A mom who lived for her children. An Aunt who, was always there for her neices. A loving and deicated wife that, always supported her husband. A dedicated person that built a renowned organization that, helps veterans overcome all they have been through, A person that, lived for family, friends, and everyone she ever met. To each one she gave her sincere unselfish love , support, and forgiveness. This beautiful person always wanted everyone to experience the same peace and understanding that she experienced by finding and communicating with the Lord. Gail's love of life was infectious and all those that knew her and those that knew her just briefly, learned too .... that life and love of others was our calling. Gail, you will forever be a part of my girl's life, their strength, and their ability to take on this world. You will always be part of our hearts ... We love and miss you so much ....Uncle Jim.

We think of Gail and Dennis often. Their laughter and love was felt by all of us. Gail was supportive and encouraging of Brian during his chemo days and Dennis extended that support by accomplishing some tasks for us during the same time and later. Gail is missed by us and many others, but especially Dennis who is in our continued prayers for the days ahead.

Heaven received an Angel on June 15. I will miss my dear close friend of 15 years. It was a relationship of true friendship. We laughed, prayed, cried, traveled, helped others & more together. Gail embraced life and inspired me to become a better person. I´ll always cherish her as a gift that God gave me. We´ll meet again in His presence! Abundant love and prayers to Dennis and the family. To Dennis and Family,

My condolences on your loss of Gail. Her kind and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her. It was a privilege to have known Gail since the late 70's when she and Dennis played match maker and introduced me and my wife Laurie via a blind date. Thank you Gail and Dennis. Gail also played a prominent role in leading Laurie and I to the Lord and being becoming "Born Again Christians". For this we are grateful. God bless Gail who now is seated in Heaven and I am sure was greeted with " Well done, good servant!". Rest in peace.

I only had the priveledge of one, very meaningful, conversation with Gail on my first visit to Camp Freedom. I reckon it's her faith that made me feel as though I were talking with my own mother. She was very warm and encouraging. I am blessed to have had this experience with her and will cherish this memory. I am grateful.

I wish Gail and I had had more time to work together. Her and I prayed for one another and the ministries we were involved it. Her faith was given to everyone she met. I will miss our Facebook conversations.

Dennis,

We were honored to have the opportunity to be friends with Gail and to worship with her at 3rd Baptist Church. She was loving, caring and one of the finest examples of being a Christian. I appreciated you and Gail allowing me to hunt your property and enjoyed the time I was able to spend with you both. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Love Janet & Bill Fiore

To the family of Gail DiMarco, I'm so sorry to learn of the passing of this sweet and gentle woman. I knew her briefly and found her to be warm, charming, and uniquely her own person. We shared tea and scones one afternoon and it still makes me smile. May she rest in peace and God forever comfort your family.
