Frances Poole Obituary
She was born June 30, 1934, in New London, the daughter of Lillian (Champ) Gentilella and Salvatore Mugavero. She was united in marriage to John Poole on Dec. 8, 1979, in Niantic. A WMI graduate, Frances was employed as a machinist planning clerk at Electric Boat.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her son Douglas Rathbun and fiancée Mary Montaquila of Mass.; daughter Leslie and husband Marc Rifkin of West Hartford, and granddaughter Sophie; three siblings, Rocco and wife Susan Gentilella, and Carmel Cleary, both of Waterford, and Connie Mugavero of East Lyme; as well as a very special friend, Pauline Smith of Maine.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14, from the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
