Gail Blevens Obituary

Chicago, Ill. - Gail Michele Blevens (Wilkerson/Collins) passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, at Roseland Community Hospital in Chicago, Ill. Gail was the daughter of the late Rev. Kingdon L. Collins Sr. and Elizabeth Collins of New London. She was born July 3, 1955, and attended New London High School in New London. Gail worked at General Dynamics in Groton and the Chicago Illinois School District as a bus driver.

She enjoyed playing bingo and making people laugh with her extremely animated stories. Her favorite color was royal blue and her favorite number was 69. Gail was an usher at Messiah Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, Ill., under the leadership of Rev. Treadmill.

Gail is survived by her boyfriend, Bernard Ferguson of Chicago, Ill.; one brother, Kingdon L. Collins Jr. of East Hartford; three sisters, Elizabeth Brevard (Ken) of Oakdale, Sharon Carpenter (James) of Anniston, Ala., and Tina Ann Collins of New London. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and friends at The Senior Suites of Washington Heights in Chicago, Ill.

The arrangements were made by Dupage Cremations, LTD and Funeral Chapel in West Chicago, IL. The viewing is scheduled at 1 p.m. (Central Time Zone) Friday, Aug. 27, 2021, through Zoom. My condolences gone out to the Collins and Brevard families loss of Gail. We was great friend, am very proud of her continuing devotions to the church like her father would like her to do. May GOD bless her forever more.
