Helen Baxter Obituary
Born in Warwick, R.I., she was the wife of Elwin N. Baxter Sr., and the daughter of the late Albert Jr. and Hetel (Carter) Sweet. She was a homemaker to her loving family. Mrs. Baxter was the secretary and treasurer of the Coventry men's slow pitch league and the treasurer of the Hoerscht Chemical bowling league in Cranston.
Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons, Elwin Jr., James, Brian, and Alan Baxter; a brother, Albert Sweet Jr.; three sisters, Joan Hollis, Sandra Berlan, and Elsie Baxter; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Her funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington St., Coventry, R.I.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
