Janet Kerttula Obituary
Janet graduated from Cathedral High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
She was the former director of sales for the Providence Bruins prior to advancing her career as the service manager for Shore Appliance in Groton.
Janet loved her daughters and enjoyed life with them. Spending time with her family and friends was her favorite activity. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading. She had a knack for planning parties and events. Her attention to detail was evident to the very end. Janet dealt with her diagnosis and treatments with poise and grace. Her stoic and fearless demeanor was inspiring to all who had the honor of meeting her.
Besides her beloved husband Kenneth and parents, she is survived by her adored twin daughters, Abigail and Grace; stepsons, Kenneth Jr. and Peter; sisters, Emma and Adelaide Patterson; grandmother Janet Chapdelaine; mother-in-law Judi Kerttula; and many extended family members and many friends like family.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 29. At 9:15 a.m. a Moment of Remembrance will be presented which will be followed by the assembling of the procession from the Byles Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames Street, on to the 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 56 Sacred Heart Drive in Groton. Interment will follow at the Colonel Ledyard Cemetery in Groton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Janet's memory to support the educational needs to her daughters, Abigail and Grace, payable to the Janet Kerttula Memorial Fund, c/o Brian Chapdelaine, 4 Danforth Farm Road, Wilbraham, Massachusetts 01095. I am her daughter Grace and I will always miss the girls days when we got our nails done and we did a daddy daughter date when i was in preschool or kindergarten she was an amazing mom I will always miss and love her

My condolences to all of Janet's family and friends. I knew Janet as a customer of Shore Appliances. Janet was a true professional that never missed a detail. I purchased dozens of appliances relying solely on her guidance and recommendations never to be disappointed. Most recently she handled the sale of all appliances for my son's first home in January; I am thankful for her incredible effort and consideration at such a difficult time.
