Jason Carr Obituary

Montville - Jason Robert Carr, loving husband and father, died unexpectedly Dec. 3, 2021, at Backus Hospital.

Jason was born in New London, March 25, 1981, to Robert and Janet (Franco) Carr. Jason was the shining star in Bob and Janet's future. Being the first grandchild on the Franco side of the family and one of the few local grandchildren on the Carr side, Jason received lots of love and attention. This helped mold Jason into an incredibly caring and loving person.

Jason was blessed to be born a brother. He joined the family with a big brother Robert Howard Jr., and his beautiful sisters, Crystal Howard and Lauralee Howard.

Jason was a graduate of Waterford High School's class of 1999 where he played football. He attended Mitchell College and Western Connecticut State University and played football there as well.

After working at a few food service jobs, Jason followed his dreams of opening his own restaurant. In 2000 he opened the Waterford Diner where he enjoyed cooking for the local community. Jason's love of cooking great food continued even after the restaurant closed. He often cooked for his parents and extended family and eventually for his wife and children whom he adored.

Jason then moved his career to follow in his father's footsteps and became a crane operator. Jason had the utmost respect and admiration for his father and strived to be like him. Jason was certified to drive the "big rig", put the large cranes together, operate cranes of all sizes and load them back up for transport. He was a member of Local 478 and worked for Bay Crane and Barnhart as well as other contractors. He excelled in all areas of crane usage and was proud of his achievements.

Jason was a proud member of the Italian American Citizen's Club in Groton. He was proud of his Italian heritage and enjoyed cooking all sort of Italian delicacies for his family especially seafood.

Over the years, Jason's siblings married and had children of their own. Rob married Heidi Cone, Crystal married Eric Arlia and LauraLee married Dean Rubino. Jason was then blessed with his nieces and nephews, Ethan Howard, Abby Howard, Mason Rubino and Bella Rubino.

In 2010 Jason was blessed with his one and only son, Jackson Raymond Carr. Jackson became the light in Jason's eyes. He loved playing with Jackson and showing him off to everyone.

In 2016 Jason married the love of his life, Javlyn Vose. Jason and Javlyn had lots of fun together, traveled to Aruba numerous times and enjoyed many gatherings with extended family and friends. Javlyn brought into Jason's life three wonderful children, Brooklyn, Jaylie and Kasin Vose. Eventually, Jason and Javlyn were blessed with three beautiful girls of their own, Raeya Sunshine Carr (5), Aeralyn Carr (2) and Verity Sable Rose Carr (7 months). Jason was so very proud of his children. He absolutely loved spending time with them and looked forward to their futures. He had big dreams for them and they will always know how much he loved them.

On Nov. 26, 2021, Jason suffered from cardiac arrest which took his life Dec. 3, 2021.

Jason is survived by his wife and children; his parents; his paternal grandmother, Mitzi Carr; his mother and father-in-law, Jannet and Jim Vose; his siblings and many proud aunts, uncles and cousins who love him dearly.

Jason was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Maribelle Franco; his paternal grandfather Franklin Howard; and his brother Robert Howard Jr.

Jason will be sadly missed by many, many people. He touched many lives and has left a deep sadness in the hearts of his many friends and family members especially his loving wife and children.

A celebration of Jason's life will be held between 1 and 4 p.m. Dec. 19, 2021, at the Italian America Citizen's Club, 322 Mitchell Street, Groton.
