Jason Robert Kowalski

Groton - Jason Robert Kowalski, of Groton and formerly of Colchester, passed away at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London, Aug. 19, 2022. He was 50 years old. Born in Norwich, March 4, 1972, he was the son of the late Robert and Jean (Maikshilo) Kowalski.

From a young age, Jason loved cooking. He studied the art of cooking at Johnson and Wales University, and went on to become a chef for the Olio Restaurant in Groton, and Red 36 in Mystic. In his spare time, Jason loved watching baseball and playing softball with the men's rec. team. He was also a member of the St. Joseph's Polish Society in Colchester. Most importantly, Jason loved spending time with his children, his friends, or doing just about anything outdoors. Jason was well known to be passionate about life and love. He had an infectious smile and laugh, and lived spontaneously. He had an incredible sense of humor and could make anybody's day. He will be sadly missed but remembered with love by his children, Jordan Kowalski of Wallingford, Emily Kowalski of Gales Ferry, Leo Kowalski of Gales Ferry; a sister, Tara Kowalski, of Colchester; and numerous extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Kristin Danaher.

Funeral services will be held beginning with calling hours from 4 to 5:30 p.m. followed by a chapel service at the funeral home at 5:30, Tuesday, Aug, 23, at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester.
