Jeannine M. LeBlanc

Ledyard - Jeannine M. LeBlanc, 89, of Ledyard and formerly of Preston, died Friday, March 21, 2025, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital. She was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada Feb. 17, 1936, the daughter of the late Anselme and Alice (LeBlanc) McCaie. She married Roger C. LeBlanc Nov. 29, 1958, in Moncton, New Brunswick; they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary before Roger's passing Dec. 4, 2015.

Jeannine previously worked at Capehart, Troy Laundry, and the Norwich School System cafeteria. It was her passion for baking that led her to working at Noel's Market in Gales Ferry and then at A&P in Taftville, while also working with her husband Roger and son Daniel as the bookkeeper for LeBlanc's Auto.

She treasured traveling with longtime friends, playing cards, working on puzzles, reading or watching UConn basketball or Red Sox's ball games.

Jeannine, a.k.a. "Memere," especially enjoyed facetiming her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They meant the world to her. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Preston for many years and member of the Ladies Guild.

She is survived by two sons, Daniel LeBlanc (Corine) and Mark LeBlanc (Margarita); five grandchildren: Daniel C. LeBlanc (Kristen), Carleigh (Fox) Sapp (Travis), Cassandra (LeBlanc) McArdle (James), Brittani (LeBlanc) Brawner (Andrew) and Noel LeBlanc; five great-grandchildren: James Michael McArdle, Donald McArdle, Forrest Brawner, Wyatt Brawner and Samuel Roger LeBlanc; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Roger C. LeBlanc; and one son, Michael LeBlanc March 27, 2000; a brother, Valmore McCaie; and two sisters, Valida Cormier and Viola Allain.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 28, at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 141 Central Avenue, Norwich. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at St. Catherine of Siena, 243 Route 164, Preston. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, 815 Boswell Avenue, Norwich.
