Jeffrey Johns Obituary
He was born in New London, on Dec. 30, 1967, the son of Joyce Ann (West) Johns and the late Ronald F. Johns.
Jeff graduated from East Lyme High School and worked for the last 14 years as corrections officer at York Correctional Institute, East Lyme. Jeff's pride and joy were his children, he cherished being a father. His favorite quote to his children was "Stay Gold"
Besides his mother, he is survived by his son, Tucker Johns; and a daughter, Britney Holmes; two brothers, Michael and Mark Johns.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic.

My heart is broken to know that you are no longer here. I cherish all the memories of you and thank you for all that you've taught me. You are the most caring and sincere man that I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I loved your ability to make people laugh and smile but most of all I loved how wonderful of a father you were. I'm sure you'll be a magnificent angel for Tucker and Britney. Keep them safe and guide them well, my friend. I will miss you until we meet again.

The only thing cooler than your personality was your unique way of seeing things. You are truly loved by many but will be missed by more. Those that knew you are at a loss.

Jeff, I don't even know where to begin. You were one of the best friends I ever had. We go back so many years and I have just sat and thought about all our fun times like burning the cookies for the kids' nursery school bake sale because we were talking and you were making me laugh and we lost track of time. I'll never forget all those fun memories! It makes me smile. I will miss the way you made me laugh and how much your cared. Most of all I admired you as a father! You and Tucker had a bond that you don't see often. You were just an amazing dad to both Tucker and LeeAnn. My heart goes out to your whole family. It was my honor to work with Jeff for many years. Words cannot describe the loss. Tucker and Brit, please know your father loved you both very much and he spoke of you both almost every time we saw each other. I am so sorry to hear about Jeff. Joyce and Mark - I am so sorry for your loss. I never met his children but I know they how lucky they are to have him as a father...his never ending cheerfulness is rare. He's made me laugh and smile since elementary school. Jeff, Jeff, Jeff where do I begin. I've had the pleasure to know you so well over the past ten years. Life is full of struggles and achievements and two of your greatest accomplishments where your children of whom you spoken highly of ever so often. These times are tough Jeff when we lose people we love and close to our hearts. So sudden, quick and abrupt that I didn't get chance to tell you. I appreciate your friendship Jeff and I'm going to miss your laughs and stories. Look over and after your children, relax the struggles and pain is over. Keep your children and friends close to you brother as those who loved you will do the same. I still can't believe this is happening. There are so many things this year alone that you will be missing that we worked so hard as parents together to make sure they happened. I am scared to do this without you . I have to believe you are watching over us as Tucker's guardian Angel to continue your job. Please let him know your there when he needs you the most and inspire him with the"Dad voice" when he needs it. Comfort him when he is missing you .
