John Mattson Obituary

St. Petersburg, Fla. - John Austin Edward Mattson, father, passed away at his home in St. Petersburg, Fla., March 25, 2021. He was born Feb. 17, 1947, in New London, to Joan Pudney Mattson and Austin Cameron Mattson.

In addition to his wife Sarah, John leaves behind his four children, Sandra Hamelink of Nebraska, Joan Scepanski of Connecticut, John Mattson of Tennessee, and Matthew (Mattson) Francis of California.

John's previous obituary earlier this month inadvertently omitted his second son (and fourth child) Matthew.

He will be greatly missed and was a giant indeed, especially to his four children.

Dear Father: Your passing has hit me hard, and I will miss you terribly. And I want you to know - that I care about you, and I will always remember you - for the remainder of my life. Your memories and influences will continue to live on within me, as will my love for you, as your son. But one day - I know, I will see you again, and I look forward - to that happy time.

With Love, Your Son - Matthew
