Kathleen Barry Obituary

Brooklyn - Kathleen Marie (Ward) Barry, 54, of Cherry Hill Road, Brooklyn, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester.

She was born Jan. 18, 1956, in Hartford, daughter of Marie Ward Cote of Brooklyn and the late William Ward. She lived for several years in Germany while her husband served in the military. She worked several years with disabled children. She attended Batchelder School in Hartford and South Catholic High School in Hartford and was a graduate of Killingly High School in Danielson.

She leaves her mother, Marie and her stepfather, Paul E. Cote; her son, Steven M. Barry; brother, Timothy P. Ward; and three grandchildren, Tyler, Megan, and Luke. Kathy also leaves a special cousin, Gail and her family; and a special aunt, Priscilla. She was very close to both.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Barry in 1997 and a brother, Michael Ward in 2002.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St., Danielson. Burial will be in All Hallows Cemetery, Moosup.

In lieu of flowers. donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill CT 06067-3045.

Kathy, I cant believe your gone!! I havent seen you in 6 yrs, but was forturnate enough to reconnect thru phone conversations the last few months!! I will cherish all the wonderful memories we have and I was honored to be a part of your family for 8 yrs!! I love you!!
Now you are with your Angel Lisa again!!!

Kathy, What a shock I had this morning. I can not BELIEVE you are gone. Remember how we had a gr8 day with my granddaughter Rayla. The joy you had in meeting her and holding her. And how we laughed cause I acted like you never held a baby before,that was funny us laughing bout that. I will miss you my dear friend. Give Lisa a hug for me. Love Janice
