Kimberly Deveau Obituary

Ledyard - Kimberly "Kim" Deveau passed July 31, 2025, in Mystic, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Preston, Nov. 2, 1960, to the late Emily Sima Deveau and Joseph Deveau. She is survived by her sister Sherry Mcghghy; her brothers, David, Richard and Gary Deveau; and nieces, Michelle Normand and Bethany Deveau; and grandniece Morgan Normand; and grandnephew Connor Norman.

Kim was an extraordinary person with a zest for life that seemed inexhaustible. Her life was taken from her far too soon and all of the people who knew her and all of the souls she touched will miss her immensely. She lived and worked under her own terms with an energy and passion for everything she did, whether it was work or for life itself. She worked in the Millstone Nuclear Station operations, licensing and engineering departments in a job that seemed all consuming of her time and energy but somehow she found the time to time to work on a number of charities most notably the Odd Fellows Lodge in Stonington. Helping people was her life's passion.

Her grandparents migrated from the landlocked East as musicians and farmers from Czechoslovakia and from the north in the maritime provinces of Nova Scotia, as ship builders and people living in harmony and bounty from the sea. Kimberly seemed to embrace both cultures with a love for the sea, it's music and love for the soil as an avid gardener. It seemed like she could play any instrument with strings and grow most anything in her garden starting from seed and nurturing it to fruition. She loved to travel around Mystic on her bike or paddling around in her kayak and working on her many crafts.

She will be missed.

I worked with Kim for many years at Millstone. She knew her stuff and if I went to her with a question I always came away with an answer. She was a pleasure to talk and work with and I was very sad to hear that she had passed. It is my sincere wish that her family finds peace in knowing she was loved and respected and that she will be missed.
