Levester Gant Obituary

Mashantucket - In Loving Memory of Levester Lee Gant Sr.

December 28, 1980 – January 6, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Levester Lee Gant Sr. a quiet and steadfast soul whose unwavering convictions and deep love for his family left a mark on all who truly knew him.

Levester was a man of few words but profound principles. He lived a life guided by integrity and humility. His calm demeanor was the strength of his character, and his quiet wisdom was a source of inspiration to the people in his lives that he valued. He cared deeply about his community, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, and wanted to see positive changes for the future.

Above all, Levester was a devoted father to his three children with Sarah Bliven. His greatest joy came from spending time with them. Whether offering quiet encouragement or teaching life lessons through his actions, he showed his love in ways that words could never fully capture.

He will be remembered for his gentle presence and quiet strength that brought comfort to his family and friends. Though he sought no recognition for his deeds, those who really knew him were forever changed by him.

Levester was predeceased by his father Levester Gant; and brother Jammal Gant. He is survived by his mother Terry Gant; siblings, Crystal Gant, Lasheena Gant, Kamari Gant, Tonia Gant, and Gerron Gant; and three beautiful children, Levester Jr., Ella, and Naomi; and a host of other family who will carry his love and legacy in their hearts forever.

A celebration of life will be held Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, at the Mashantucket Pequot Spiritual Center, 938 Shewville Road, Mashantucket. Calling hours will start at 10 a.m., followed by the funeral service to begin at 11 a.m. The burial will take place at the Mashantucket Pequot Burial Ground in Mashantucket.

The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic is assisting the family.

You became our brother from another when we moved to CT. Running around Ledyard and New London was some the greatest memories as a kid. Even took a couple of road trips when we moved back to New Jersey. Always the light skin fly guy. Rest well say what's to Jammal for me.
