Lloyd Edson Obituary
He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 36 years, Aileen Edson; two daughters, Desiree Edson and Melanie Kapelson; and a son, Richard Edson. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, Madelaine and James Edson, M.D.; as well as father-in-law, Ernesto Gomez.
His surviving siblings and in-laws are Joy Dyrsten, James and wife Fina Edson, Deborah Adams, Jacquelyne and husband Richard Plaatsman. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Anna Perullero.
Lloyd was employed by Westerly Hospital and retired after 36 years of dedicated service.
Lloyd was raised and educated in Ridgewood, N.J., he received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at the University of Colorado and moved to Connecticut where he raised his family. Lloyd and Aileen cared for his ailing father for many years before he passed away. He was adored by all who knew him; his quick wit and use of puns brought humor and laughter to everyone. As the youngest sibling, "Lloydy" is remembered as a sensitive and fun loving member of the family. He always loved music and, as a teenager, he was often found in the attic playing on his electric guitar among his friends in their band. He continued playing the guitar, listening to music and writing throughout his life.
He loved to travel with his family. He was proud of his children for their accomplishments and was grateful for their love and support. He enjoyed intellectual conversations and kept abreast of current events throughout his illness. He remained upbeat during conversations with family members and never lost interest in what was going on in their lives. It wouldn't be fair to leave out his four-legged love, Oreo, whose companionship gave Lloyd a great deal of comfort and pleasure. Lloyd will be forever missed and always loved.
Family and Friends wishing to pay their respects; a tribute to Lloyd will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2021, at Langley's Restaurant, 28 Lamphere Road, Waterford.

So very sorry to the family and loved ones of Lloyd. I was blessed to have known and worked with him at Westerly Hospital. His sharp intelligence, quick wit, and warm demeanor drew everybody to him. One of the most unique people I´ve ever met

I am so very sorry to hear of Lloyds passing! I worked at the Westerly Hospital and Lloyd was so very proud of his family. He spoke often of Aileen and his daughters.I will always think of Lloyd with a smile and a chuckle he made every day brighter. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time ..

Although I met Lloyd only a few times when I worked with Aileen @ the New England Savings Bank, he had a very kind way about him & a wonderful personality...
