Lorraine Eldridge Obituary

Groton - Lorraine (Saunders) Eldridge, 79, of Village Lane, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 3, 1932, in Hartford, the daughter of Dorothy Saunders.

On Nov. 16, 1953, she married Arthur F. Eldridge, and they lived many happy years together in New London and later in Groton. He passed away on Nov. 24, 2007.

Lorraine retired from Finast Supermarket in New London, and she also had been employed for many years at London Luggage in the old New London Mall.

Lorraine leaves behind two daughters, Donna and her husband, Norman, and Deborah and her husband, Charles. She also leaves three grandchildren, Damien Deck, Kristen Morton, and Jeffrey Betty. Her grandson, Damien and his wife, Adrienne, gave her a gift, her great-granddaughter, Sophia Deck, who gave her two and half years of joy. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Fargo and her husband, Albert; along with many nieces, nephews, and their children.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London, with a funeral home service at 6 p.m. Interment will be private.

The Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
