To The D'Amico Family:
I will always remember Lou with love and admiration- as a young girl he taught me to play the clarinet and as a young woman he and his band provided the music for my wedding. My sincere sympathy for your loss.

Louis - thank you so much for the gift of jazz, the memories and life lessons taught along the way. Thanks for making English my favorite class. And thanks for teaching us it's a homer if it hits the back wall of the class.

My sympathies to the D'Amico family. Mr. D was a great man and teacher. He was always smiling, and always remembering all his "kids". For many years after graduating school, I would see him at the Quaker Hill Post office. He would always stop to chat, asking how I was and how was my family. He knew how to make you feel good about yourself and life.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I was fortunate enough to have him as my teacher in the 7th grade. I'll always remember hearing about the Red Sox in his class. He was a great saxophone player that my dad jammed with. He influenced and inspired me more than any other teacher I had. RIP Mr. D'Amico. You really made a difference in so many lives.

He certainly was my favorite teacher! He was inspirational and motivating. He loved the kids and loved what he did! I remember reading The Bounty Trilogy. His passion and enthusiasm led his students to read literature and appreciate it in countless new ways. I couldn't put the books down. Westside Story and every other novel we read was inspired in the same way. He and my Dad played together when Dad needed a fifth instrument or really good sax player. Lou fit the bill. Lou & I also kept in contact through one of my best friends: Dicky Trask from California, adopted son of your Mom's sister. I would see Lou when I was building Quaker Hill Elementary School. Every encounter was special. Know that he was loved and will be missed by me and countless others.

I am so sorry to hear of "Mr. D"'s passing. He was a terrific man and a fine musician! I learned a lot about music from him. I couldn't thank him enough for teaching me how to play the saxophone. With his teaching, I became better and better with playing my tenor saxophone. He was truly a gem in the jewelry store of life! God bless him always!

Not just a man, a legend. Everybody in Clark Lane wanted Mr. D'Amico as their teacher, he made it fun because he enjoyed teaching, and us. He made us relax by being an understanding human being, and he was kind.
Later in life I was his neighbor. I could never bring myself to call him "Lou", he was Mr. D'Amico and that was that. We saw how devoted he and his lovely bride Marjie was to their family. They may not even know it, but they gave us a beautiful example of selfless giving to family that we admired. Clearly they adored their children and grandchildren. Our hearts are sad for you all. May God rest his soul and may he and Marjie enjoy heaven together. They deserve it. Thank you for everything, Mr. D'Amico.

Mr. D. Was a wonderful teacher. He still would remember my name after so many years. He, like so many of the teachers at Waterford were so much more than teachers. Friends, listeners, mentors, and always there with a hug and smile when one was needed. He will remembered by so many. Condolences to his family.

Dear D'Amico Family,
I had the privilege of knowing both your mother and father. They were wonderful people. I came to know your dad at Clark Lane. He was always interested in helping his students. I met your mother several times when she was with your father. Both of your parents will be missed. I hope your many memories of them will bring you comfort in the days ahead.

incredibly sad for my boys! They were lucky enough to have their Poppy live right next door ! They shared the love of the Giants and the red sox, enjoying many games together! Lou never ,ever missed a school meeting, or a sporting event! He passed on some traditions from his Italian heritage! He will be missed forever!

Whoever wrote this obituary did a remarkable job. Everything important was mentioned, well written and it all seemed like yesterday.
We'll miss that man sitting in his recliner, near all those newspapers, with his dog beside him, as he watched TV & enjoyed anyone that entered the door of that room.
He actually was the cornerstone to our marriage from early in our dating stages, & before marriage. Jim met Lou as a popular teacher at Clark Lane and the friendship began. They were a genuine twosome, ask the students.
We spent much time with Lou's family at their home where there were kids (now adults) dancing, singing, playing ball or watching sports. Lou sat watching them with a smile while Marge waited on everyone. They were nearly always together except when it came to shopping.
Please accept our condolences for your whole family. Things won't be the same as life goes on.

My sincere condolences to Pam and her family. He was such a great teacher. Oh and how He loved his family. Your parents are back together smiling down at all who loved them. Don't be surprised in the near future you see a sign that they were there. It happened when my Mom passed away.

To the entire D'Amico family I offer my sincere condolences in the loss of your dad. He was my homeroom teacher during my yrs at Clark Lane. I remember he would read to our class, "Mutiny on the Bounty" being my favorite. I also was a band boy for his band on occasion. We called him "Lou farkle" I will always remember him. May God bless you all.
