My sincere condolences to the entire family. When I first moved to Calgary from Montreal in 1981, Western Outfitters was a must-stop. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr Pomerance in person, I have heard much about him from Beverly Israel-Ikeman (niece) who was my best friend in high school (Montreal). RIP.

What a shock. Remember so many coffees with Lou and Phil at the then Four Seasons while he was on his way to the bank with his brown paper bag. We would always leave there a little more uplifted by Lou with his wit and humor, sometimes he even bought the coffee! Have now been on the coast for 28 years, but still carry his kindness and thoughtfulness with me. Never forgotten. Condolences to Phil, the family, and all his many friends.

Dear Mrs. Pomerance, Cheryl, Allan and Aubrey. I was shocked to hear of Lou's passing from my parents. I always remember Donald Duck when we use to visit the store downtown and it always made me laugh. I vaguely remember my first pair of cowboy boots which Lou measured me up for, so I am told, but I do remember purchasing my last stetson which I still have today and will always remember him when I wear it. May Lou's memory be for a blessing.

I think we can consider ourselves lucky if we have 2 or 3 people in our lives who always, always make us smile. Lou was one of those people for me. Sweet, kind, funny - a real character. Genuinely, wonderful to be around.
Like so many, I mourn the passing of a great man. May his family find comfort in the days ahead by remembering a life well lived, well shared. God bless.

Dear Mrs. Pomerance,
I have been living in Toronto for nearly 32 years and yet Toronto is still not ‘home'. When I close my eyes and picture places and think of memories there is no doubt that Calgary will always be home to me. One of those memories is the ‘Donald Duck man'. How I loved when Mr. Pomerance did Donald Duck. Over the years, whenever I would see him, I would beg him to do “Donald Duck” and he graciously always did.
I'm going to be fifty years old soon. I can close my eyes and see him doing Donald Duck like it was yesterday. Some things touch us and never leave.
