Michael Mariano Obituary
Michael was born Oct. 1, 1986, in New London the beloved son of Barbara Mariano of Waterford and the late Charlie Mariano. In addition to his beloved mother Barbara, he is survived by his sister, Stacey Mariano and her fiancé Timothy Clarke; his nephew Colin Kuchta; his great uncle Edward; his companion MacKenzie Smith; and his 4-legged buddy Carmine.
Michael attended Waterford High School and graduated in 2004. Then continued his education at Three Rivers where he obtained an associate's degree. He then graduated from Mitchell College with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Business Award. He was currently employed at General Dynamics / EB as a senior contract specialist for the past 15 years at the time of his demise.
You could always find Mike working on cars or anything with a motor or clutch, while wearing Carhartt from head to toe. He cherished time spent with friends and loved to garden and listen to Yacht Rock Music. Mike was a huge Harry Potter fan as he enjoyed every aspect from the books to attending an experience event in New York. He savored being a foodie, grilling his fresh garden veggies, making beef jerky and eating healthy. He loved the outdoor lifestyle, especially kayaking adventures with MacKenzie and friends.
Family and friends are asked to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial that will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, in St. Joseph Church, 139 Montauk Ave., New London. Interment to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London. Cherish each day and live life to the fullest for you never know what tomorrow holds. The Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London, has been entrusted with his care.

part 2 continued post (Sarah) I forgot to apoligize for not being able to make it to his service, I am embaressed to say that cuz I should have been there. Wish I was there. I couldnt make it because I live all the way out near Bridgeport and dont have a vehicle so I could not make it down. Just wanted to say that. Sending love because if you were a friend of Mike, you are a friend of mine. <3

Michael was my 2nd cousin once removed, and I only met him twice, but I was struck by what a gentle and sweet soul he was. I was proud that he was related to me, and how I wish that I had gotten the chance to get to know him, just as my niece and nephews, who were his age, did. Reid Mariani

I worked with Mike at stop and shop for 4 years, hung out after hours and went to Mitchell with him for a bit. Mike always had a joke or a funny comment up his sleeve. In the 4 years I worked with him I can't remember once his name tag saying his actual name, "Royce Wellington" instantly comes to mind. I never know what to write on these. Mike, you were such a good guy, thank you for your friendship as well as for trying to mellow me out when I'd get too serious. My condolences to your family.
