Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not for long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that once we shared
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all part of the master plan
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart
Go the friends we know.
Laugh at all the things we used to do
Miss me, but let me go.
When I am dead my dearest
Sing no sad songs for me
Plant thou no roses at my head
Nor shady cypress tree
Be the green grass above me
With showers and dewdrops wet
And if thou wilt remember
And if thou wilt, forget.
I shall not see the shadows,
I shall not fear the rain;
I shall not hear the nightingale
Sing on as if in pain;
And dreaming through the twilight
That doth not rise nor set,
Haply I may remember,
And haply may forget.

Dearest Michele, I don't know what prompted me to look up Raymond's obituary today but I'm so glad I did. I loved learning what he did with his life post drum corps and it warms my heart that he continued to share his gifts with others in the activity. Marching with Ray in Spirit of Atlanta was a gift. He knew so much and I was so naive, I'm sure I drove him insane! When you joined the corps with him, I envied the close relationship you had together, almost like a twin connection between you, it was lovely to witness that bond and your shared laughter. I cherish the memories I have of Raymond and send you all my love.

Yesterday was a big day for our family. Your Godson and nephew, Marc, graduated from college but you knew that as you were with us cheering him on. You were by his side these last 4 years as he pursued his goal. I know that your absence has molded him into the man he is today. I miss you dear brother as I care for our mother. I often wonder why I am the remaining one to be caring for her. She would say that "God only does right" so this was His plan. Rest easy as we approach your 14th anniversary. Love you always.

Ray was our Colorguard instructor at King Philip HS way back from 1989-1993. Sadly, I am only now learning of his passing and am very sad that I was not able to be there for his memorial.

Ray was wonderful. So kind, caring, compassionate, and a wonderful teacher. He always pushed us to be our best, and was always there to be supportive of us. And he always made us laugh and smile. He really was family to us. I have thought about him for all of these years and will forever picture him perfectly tossing that sabre.

May he rest in peace. He will remain in my heart.

Hi Ray,
There is not a day that I don't think about you and feel you in my heart. I miss you but I know you are in a better place. I hope you are taking long walks on the beach with your dad and talking about good times. I look forward to the day that we walk along together. Be an angel in my world and look upon everyone who loves you and spread your happiness. I know you're there! I miss you!

Words can not express my saddness and emptiness with the loss of my dear brother, Ray. This void is so great. To hear my brother's name read at the mass for Bishop Feehan H.S. Deceased Alumni & Faculty on 10/29/05 was heart wrenching.

Ray would be so proud of the entries written about him in this guest book. These entries have been very comforting to my mother and I. Thank you for all your kind words and prayers.

My brother and I shared a very special relationship. I can only pray that my children, Marc and Rachel will have the same love and admiration that Ray and I shared for one another. We ask that you continue to pray for us as we learn to live without our Ray. Fondly, Michele Brunelle

I will always remember the work ethic and pride Ray had in everything he did, his family he loved so much, and his drive to perform and be the best he could be. We lost touch after high school but knowing him as a class mate and fellow band member during our high school years at Feehan, I am saddened to hear about the loss of such a good and kind person. To The Boucher Family & Bobby,

We were so saddened to hear the news of Ray's passing. I will always remember as a parent "He" asking how my daughter was doing. With the smile. He taught her at Boston Crusaders back in the day.

My husband and I have kept involved with our daughter in Winterguard and Drum Corps. We would see Ray every where.

I loved him as a person and a friend to all. Bobby my heart is so heavy for you ! My you always remember the good times .

My deepest sympathy to Bob, Michelle and the the Boucher family: I was a classmate of Ray's at Bishop Feehan. He was always smiling, encouraging of all those around him...a real friend to all. I dragged out my old yearbook and he wrote the nicest entry. Part of it said " sometimes you need the absence of someone to really make you realize how special they are to you...."we were all graduating and embarking on our new lives...saying goodbye to each other. I havene't seen Ray since then, but knowing his sweet and generous spirit, I was not surprised to read such a beautiful testimony to his life in the paper last week..and all the entries here from all of those that he truly made a difference in their lives. Ray is an example to all of us. My prayers are with you...

Ray has taught me so much! not only as a performer but me as a person! Ray has done so much for the Dartmouth high guard... He tought us that when one person falls we all fall when one person stands up we are all up... but most importantly he tought us all to smile, even when the worst comes out to always smile. Ray will be terribly missed. He will always be with us!

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Boucher:

Although I lost touch of Ray through the years, I still have the fondest memories of your son. We marched together in State Street Review (1985- 20 years ago!) in Madison, Wisconsin. We were partners for some parts of our colorguard show. I'll never forget how strong and forceful Ray was with that huge rifle. And, his ability to whip it around!. It always amazed me how he totally manipulated that rifle and HE was in control. He had the ability to swing that rifle effortlessly- I always looked up to him and he always encouraged me to "bap" my sabre! We shared many bus rides together and many jokes! As a parent, I wanted to let you know that he was considerate and spoke very highly of his family. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family.

Dear Mrs. Boucher, Michelle and Armand,

Although Lorraine and I did not know Raymond, we are sorry to hear about Raymond’s passing. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

God’s mercy touches us at the last moment in a wondrous and mysterious way. Outwardly, it seems as if everything were lost, but it is not so. The soul, illumined by a ray of God’s powerful final grace, turns to God in the last moment with such power of love that in an instant, it receives from God his “Divine Mercy.”

Ray was such an amazing person. He taught me so much and not just about performing and colorguard but about life. He showed me how to never give up and to always get back in there and gave us the determination and drive to become the best. But most of all he taught me to SMILE no matter what happens because everything is always better with a smile on. That's what he'd want us to do now. He'll be watching us perform and we'll smile for him!
