Raymond Dahlstrom Obituary
He was born in Astoria, Queens, N.Y., Aug. 24, 1943, the son of Oskar and Ellizabeth Carlsen Dahlstrom. Raymond was married to Marcia Sjoman Maher April 17, 2004, in Fairfield.
Raymond ran several successful businesses and retired as a firefighter with the New York Fire Department after 24 years of service. He also had served in the Army National Guard during the Viet Nam era.
Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Dahlstrom of North Bellmore, N.Y.; his son Raymond E. Dahlstrom (Jessica) of Massapequa, N.Y.; two granddaughters, Genevieve and Katerina Dahlstrom; a stepson, Christopher Maher of Danbury; and two step-grandsons, Jack and Cody Maher. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Johnson.
A funeral service will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 12, at Faith Lutheran Church, 625 Poquonnock Road, Groton. Interment with Military Honors will be in Colonel Ledyard Cemetery, Groton. A visiting hour at Faith Lutheran will be from 11 a.m. until the start of service. Donations in his memory may be directed to either the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
