Rev. Reuben Bennett Alfred Telemaque

New London - Rev. Reuben Bennett Alfred Telemaque, 92, resident of New London, passed Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London. Born in Dominica, Oct. 9, 1932, he was the beloved son of the late Jones Horatio Hamilton Telemaque and Mary Virginia Telemaque (nee Andrew). He was one of their proudest legacies - a man who carried their values forward with dignity and devotion. He was also the brother of the late Johnathon Telemaque and Bernice Thomas (nee Telemaque), whom he now joins in peaceful rest. His only remaining brother, Arnold Telemaque, continues to reside in their cherished hometown of Wesley. The bond of the siblings were deep and enduring, rooted in shared history, love and family strength.

Reuben was a husband, teacher, minister, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and above all, a man of deep faith, wisdom and love.

He was the devoted husband of Brendaline Telemaque (nee Baly), his partner in life, love and faith. Together, they built a legacy centered on family, faith, and service. Reuben was a proud and loving father to Joy, Judy and Joan - three daughters who carry forward his wisdom, integrity and grace. His legacy extends even further through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in whom his spirit continues to live and grow.

He was a teacher in every sense of the word but didn't just teach lessons from a book - he taught life through his example. With patience and grace, he guided others not only in the classrooms, but in everyday moments, helping to shape minds and hearts alike.

As a minister, he served throughout the Methodist conference of the Caribbean and the Americas with unwavering dedication. His faith wasn't just preached - it was lived. Through words and actions, he offered strength, comfort and hope to so many. He was a spiritual pillar, a source of light in times of darkness, always pointing others towards love, truth and understanding.

"You are thanked for the wisdom you shared, the love you gave and the faith you lived. You have finished your race with honor, and now you rest in eternal peace."

The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, in the United Methodist Church, 130 Broad Street, New London, followed by Interment in Jordan Cemetery, Waterford. The Thomas L.
