Richard N. Gannoe

1952 - 2018

Surry, N.H. - Our community is sadden with the sudden passing of Richard N. Gannoe, 66, of Surry, on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, in Lowell, Mass., while attending a model train show, a hobby, Richard truly enjoyed.

His parents, Gladys (Bach) and Raymond Gannoe Sr., proudly welcomed their son into the world on Aug. 30, 1952, in New London. Richard grew up in Waterford and attended local schools. At the time of his passing, Richard worked as a manager with the Sandri Convenience Store in Hinsdale, N.H.

He was an avid model railroader and attended shows throughout New England. He was also a member of the Sports Car Club of America. His favorite pastime was spending time on the beaches of Cape Cod, creating many special memories with his family.

Richard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol J. (Winters) Gannoe of Surry; his three daughters, Holly Shoemaker and her husband, Jim, of Wetumpka, Ala., Heather Hart and her husband, Geoff, of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Catherine Goodrich and her husband, Jason, of Swanzey, N.H.; his grandchildren, Rowen, Kain and Brianna; three sisters, Ronnie Way of Waterford, Patricia Bowdish of Lisbon, N.Y. and Jean Boege of Hagerstown, Md.; a brother, Thomas Gannoe of East Lyme; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eleanor and Fred Winters of Waterford; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Gannoe Jr.

A celebration of Richard's life will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at Papagallos Restaurant, 9 Monadnock Highway (Route 12 South), Swanzey, N.H. All are welcome to come and share their special memories of Richard.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made in Mr. Gannoe's memory to Lung Cancer Research, c/o Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03766.
