Richard Mazzella Obituary
Rich, owner of Mazcon & Associates, Inc., was a custom home builder and worked alongside his father, Thomas Mazzella, on many new home and renovation projects.
A devoted father, son, brother and uncle, Rich loved skiing in Vermont and Colorado with his daughter Gabby, cousin Steve and sister Renee. He loved spending time along the Connecticut shoreline with family, friends and their dog Cece.
Rich is survived by his daughter, Gabrielle of Wilton; parents, Thomas and Margaret Mazzella of Niantic; sister, Renee Maron, brother-in-law, Christopher Maron and their children Holly, Timothy and Abigail of Boulder, Colo. He is also survived by his loving girlfriend, Lisa Villano of Waterford; and former wife, Victoria Gullotti-Mazzella of Wilton. He is survived by many cousins, aunts and uncles; including his cousin and best friend, Captain Steven Mazzella of Md.
A celebration of Richard's life is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Thomas L. Neilan & Son East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at St. Agnes Church Haigh St. Niantic.
Guests are encouraged to wear purple, his daughter Gabby's favorite color. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that you consider donations in his memory to his daughter: Gabrielle Mazzella College Fund c/o Liberty Bank, 314 Flanders Road, East Lyme, CT 06333.

I knew Rich...Gabrielle is among the circle of friends she had in Madison. I will always remember the happy go lucky attitude with life and the infectious smile he always had on his face(especially when he was with Gabrielle).. She was always happy and laughing when I saw them together!.. I know he loved her so very much and I hope she will forever keep his smile in her memories. Words cannot express our shock and sorrow as we learned of the terrible tragedy that took our friend Rich earlier this week.
