Mr. Hubbard was born on Oct. 26, 1958, in La Mesa, Calif., the son of Jimmy and June (Way) Hubbard.
He married Janet Congdon on Nov. 16, 1991, in Lyme. He traveled with his parents for many years in the South during his childhood before coming to Connecticut. He worked in many fields including automotive, oil-rigging, and he was a computer technician for various companies. He last worked for GE Capital until April of 2008 when his illness forced him to retire.
Mr. Hubbard loved to travel with his family as well as work on mechanics with his children. He was a self-taught computer technician and spent many years improving his knowledge. He was a good friend and neighbor and always tried to help out when he could.
Mr. Hubbard is survived by his loving wife, Janet; his two daughters, Jessica Hubbard of Oklahoma and Christine Hubbard of Lyme; his son, James "Jimmy" Hubbard of Lyme; his sister, Dory Edwards of Preston; and his stepfather, Floyd Allen of Oklahoma.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, in Lyme Congregational Church. Calling hours will be held from 3 until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, in Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Beckwith Lane, Old Lyme CT 06371.
