Bob and the entire Irvine family,
I am very sorry for the loss of your son. I did not know your son, but I see that everlasting smile on his face which is what I remember the most about you, along with that witty intelligence. From what I have read he was just like you. A testament to your character which I am sure both of you instilled in him. All I can say is that I am sorry and I will keep you in my prayers at this difficult time. May he rest in peace.

Melissa, Jillian, Julia, & Jenevieve,
We were so sorry to hear of Rob's passing. I met Rob at basketball when he was coaching Jillian's team about 10 years ago - the girls were in kindergarten or 1st grade. He was also a softball coach for the Preston girls. I always thought he was such a kind fun caring person. He always had a smile on his face, and watching him with his family was heartwarming. So much love.
He will be sadly missed, he certainly fought the good fight with ALS - and again - every time I saw him - always a smile no matter how sick he was. He is an inspiration, and he will be sadly missed by so many.
With our prayers and sympathy to all of Rob's family,
The DeLia Family

Rob, We grew up together in Preston and played Saturday morning basketball together at the plains from early age to high school. We played against each other down at Green Field all through the years in baseball. We went to high school together at Ledyard High School. Although I didn't party with you most of the time, we were still friends. Preston although a small town, we always took care of each other, watched over each other and remember each other. You went on to be a unbelievable father and husband to your family. Although this disease has taken you from us, the really great thing is you've been an inspiration to others struggling with this disease and helped people who may not understand it, do so. What you've accomplished while battling ALS is unheard of. Seeing the smile on your face knowing what was ahead of you was the greatest thing to see. I love you brother and thank you for making me a better person, father and husband because of it.
