Robert Roche Obituary
Born in Newport, R.I., he was the son of the late Manuel and Julia Roche.
Robert worked for Kaman Aircraft for many years, retiring as a supervisor. He created and donated many homemade hats to the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center and was an avid New York Yankees and UConn women's basketball fan. His other passions and hobbies included woodworking, gardening, yearly winter trips to Myrtle Beach and summer trips to the campground. He enjoyed this all with his wife right by his side.
In addition to his wife, Lorraine; he leaves three children, Sheryl A. Mellow and her husband, Lawrence Mellow, of Westerly, Robert D. Roche Jr. and Karrie LaMarche of Pawcatuck and Mark S. Roche and his wife, Beth Rodgers Roche of Ashaway, R.I.; a sister, Winnie Dennis of Florida; and six grandchildren, Ivy Mellow, Amy (Mellow) Panucci, Dylan, Daniel and Stephen Roche and Nicole Pelletier.
Robert was predeceased by two sisters, Dolores Lubas and Theresa Roche.
Visiting hours will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly, immediately followed by a funeral service at noon in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
