Sheila Parks Obituary
Sheila is survived by her daughter Deborah (Parks) Durkin and her husband John Durkin of Douglas Mass.; her son Brian P. Parks and his wife Kelly Parks of Bridgeville, Del.; four grandchildren, who were the joys of her life, Kaleigh Durkin of Framingham, Mass., Allyson Durkin of Johnston, R.I., Patrick Durkin of Ballston Spa, N.Y. and Brady Parks of Plymouth, Mass. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael A. Parks of Montville in 2003.
Sheila was born Nov. 14, 1943, in New London, the daughter of the late Patrick J. Scully and Julia Agnes (Morgan) Scully. Sheila was the youngest of six siblings, who all preceded her in death; Mary Ellen Driscoll, Patricia J. Grant, Beverly A. Rogers, James P. Scully and Robert M. Scully.
Sheila was employed with Dunkin Donuts in Waterford for many years, and made many friends along the way. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and also enjoyed spending time in her garden, and building puzzles. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Dana Farber Cancer Center and Brigham and Women's Hospitals in Milford, Mass., for their caring knowledge and support. They would also like to thank Salmon Hospice for their assistance and compassion throughout this journey.
There are no calling hours. Sheila will be laid to rest alongside her husband at 10:30 a.m. June 10, at St. Mary's Cemetery, Jefferson Avenue, in New London. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168. Sorry to read this about Sheila, grew up together in New London and I lived right down the street from the Parks on Vauxhall Street.
