Sheila Wolfe Obituary

North Stonington - Sheila Tucker Wolfe, DVM, 41, of North Stonington, passed away unexpectedly Jan. 6, 2023. She leaves behind her loving husband, James W. Wolfe Jr., and the light of her life, their son Seamus.

Born in Hartford, Sheila grew up in Enfield, and graduated from Enfield High School in 1999, where she participated in flute, drum majorette and was a member of the volleyball team. She then went on to earn her BA from St. Anselm College in New Hampshire, in 2003, followed by a master's degree in animal science from the University of Connecticut in 2005. Furthering her education and following her love for animals, Sheila graduated from Atlantic Veterinary College of Prince Edward Island, Canada in 2009.

Dr. Tucker dedicated her life to animals of all kinds, serving as a veterinarian for more than a decade at veterinary offices and clinics throughout Rhode Island and Connecticut. Known for her compassion, she built strong and lasting relationships with her clients - many of whom would follow her to new clinics as her career expanded. She was most recently associate veterinarian at Norwichtown Veterinary Hospital in Norwich. Sheila was also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Sheila was never able to turn down an animal in need, creating a home that was a safe haven for animals that needed to be fostered, rehabbed, or re-homed. She loved all her fur babies, and as her home grew to include dogs, cats, goats, chickens, pigs and more , she often joked that she was a reluctant farmer's wife. She had an abundance of corny jokes, as well as treats - often baking desserts and sweets for her co-workers and friends. She was a voracious reader and loved to crochet, making baby blankets for all of her family and friends' newborns. She was a friend and confidant to many.

Sheila is also survived by her devoted parents, Judith (Fahey) and Charles G. Tucker Jr.; and her brother Charles J. "Chuck" Tucker, VMD, his wife Amy Learn, VMD, DACVB, IAABC-CABC, and their daughter Mackenzie.

Dr. Tucker, a loving, caring passionate person. She was amazing at her profession! Our pets Luna and Uno loved and adored Dr. Tucker. She was passionate and helpful with advice for the human part of dealing with our babies. We will miss her deeply.
Love and prayers to her family. May the comfort of Gods embrace bring you peace during this difficult time.

Dr Tucker not only met the physical needs of her patients, she met them emotionally where they lived - no judgement, and with love and respect for every life. That care communicated to the pet owners, who felt safe in her care. We are beyond devastated. No one will ever come close to her love of her life´s dedication- the lucky animals she served. God bless her family with the knowledge that they were touched by an Angel.

We are so sorry to hear of Dr. Tucker´s passing . She was always so kind and delightful to our pups . The last time we saw her at Norwichtown Animal Hospital, she greeted us at the door with a big smile and said " Is that my boyfriend Snoopy ? " she had the best sense of humor, a kind and gentle soul . She wore her heart on her sleeve .
She will be missed . We are so grateful to have met her and had our dogs under her care . Rest In Peace . Never forgotten.
