Susan Levanti Obituary

Summerfield, N.C. - Susan Levanti, 47, formerly of East Lyme, passed away unexpectedly May 5, 2006 at her home in of Summerfield.

Susan was born March 31, 1958 in New London, the daughter of Geraldyne B. (McCollum) Levanti and the late Andrew P. Levanti.

Susan started working at a young age in her father's restaurant the Picadilly. She then went on to work at many other restaurants through the years including The Starlight Inn, Pat's Kountry Kitchen, and The Old Lyme Inn. Susan was an avid animal lover. In her youth she enjoyed raising and taking care of her horses that she would often take on family camping trips. Susan also took great pride in, and enjoyed spending quality time with, her cats, Molly and Abby, who she also leaves behind. Susan will always be remembered for her genuine heart, contagious laugh, and her unmistaken ability to bring fun to any occasion.

Susan is survived by her mother, Geraldine, with whom she shared her home; a sister, Jo-Ann Levanti, of Oakdale; a brother, Paul A. Levanti, of Summerfield; two nieces, Tracy Levanti, of New London, and Emily Levanti, of Waterford; and many other loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

There are no calling hours, burial will be at the convenience of the family.

I was a friend of the family growing up. I spent many summers camping with Susan and her family. She was alway good to me and shared her horses so I could ride. All though I lost touch with her in later years I will alway remember those days fondly. My sympathies and prayers go out to her family.
