Wayne Dole Obituary
Groton - Wayne Aaron Dole, 48, of Groton, passed away on Oct. 29, 2011.
Wayne was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on March 30, 1963, the son of the late James and Elizabeth Dole.
In 1972, following the deaths of his parents, he came to Connecticut and was adopted by his aunt and uncle, Judith A. Dole of Groton and the late Daniel W. Dole. He attended school in Groton and became an accomplished roofer, working with several roofing companies in the Southeastern Connecticut area.
Wayne is survived by his mom, Judith Dole; his son, Aaron R. Dole of Old Mystic; his brothers, Michael Dole and Terry Dole, both of Buffalo, Ronald Dole of North Stonington, Douglas Dole of Haddam, Daniel Dole of Northampton, N.J., Gregory Dole of Groton; his sisters, Cheryl Ann Dole of Buffalo, Tina Biederstadt of Groton, and Michelle Bird of York Beach, Maine. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents and adoptive father, he was also predeceased by his daughter, Tammy Lynne Smith and his brothers, James, Timothy, and Kevin Dole.
There will be a memorial services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Poquonnock Bridge Baptist Church in Groton.
Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St., is assisting his family with the services.

To Tina and Family, So sorry to hear about Wayne's loss, what a Shock, I recently saw him this summer with his grandchildren in Branford Manor, pushing them in a stroller and such, having such a smile on his face......... I guess the family has moved since then...... So sorry I couldn't make it to the service for Wayne, I just got over having back surgery. Well you and your family are all in my thoughts and prayers. Today is really a sad day,for the realization has come that we will no longer see Wayne's friendly smile or hear his usual "Hey what's up".We will greatly miss him.Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.Till we meet again Wayne.
