Albert Anderson Obituary

Albert Ronald "Ron" Anderson

Albert Ronald "Ron" Anderson, age 70, of Palm Springs, CA, passed from his earthly life on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage.

He was born November 17, 1946 in Burgaw, North Carolina, the son of the late Albert Anderson and Ruth Daniel Wise. Ron was also preceded in death by his brothers, Faison M. "Monty" Anderson and Jeffery "Jeff" A. Wise.

Ron is survived by his life partner of 29 years, David Cleveland of their home in Palm Springs, California; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert A. and Sherry Anderson, Charles "Rick" Anderson, and Christopher "Chris" H. and Lynn Anderson; nephews and nieces, Eric Anderson, David Anderson, Brian Bunn, Charles Anderson, Taylor Anderson, Christopher Anderson, Steven Anderson, Amy Smith and Adrienne Dillon; and many extended family and friends.

Ron was a computer systems analyst, providing tech support and troubleshooting for Williams-Sonoma in San Francisco, Northwest Airlines in Minneapolis, Hilton Hotels in Las Vegas, and installing software in major hotels around the world for Hotel Information Systems in San Francisco.

He was an avid gardener, boater and traveler. It was a running joke over the years that once Ron had redone the landscaping at his home, some life changing event would require relocation and a move to a new locale's gardening project. Las Vegas, San Francisco, Orlando, Atlanta, Houston, Minneapolis, St. Croix and Palm Springs were all Ron's residences at some point in his life, but North Carolina was always what Ron referred to as home. Ron enjoyed traveling for both business and pleasure, visiting countries around the world. Egypt, Hong Kong, Brazil, England, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Canada, China, Philippines, Germany, Mexico, and virtually every major US city were just some of his travel destinations. Ron was an avid boater, whether it was waterskiing on the Sacramento Delta or Lake Mead, jet skiing on Lake Minnetonka, cruising down the Pacific Coast, or captaining the boat during the Christmas Boat Parade on St. Croix.

A life loved … A life well lived … A life shared … A life remembered.

Funeral services were held on June 20, 2017 in Burgaw, NC. Ron was interred in Currie, NC, next to his beloved mother, father and brothers.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2017 in Palm Springs. Friends wishing to attend are encouraged to contact David Cleveland for details.

Memorial gifts are encouraged to be sent to the Neuro Vitality Center, 2800 East Alejo Road, Palm Springs, CA 92292.

Our sincerest condolences to Dave and both Dave and Ron's families. Although we never got to know Ron - we knew Dave and in knowing him - knew his devotion and love for Ron.

Sincere condolences to the family. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure in your heart and it lives forever. May the wonderful treasures fill your hearts with love and bring you peace, Hosea 13:14
