We met Charlie and Lorraine on a cruise to India a few years ago and unfortunately were unable to meet up with them again but remained in contact viaphone/email.We knew Charlie as a true gentleman and always having fun and wanting fishermans friends (cough sweets)off my wife as he said they made him feel sexy. We will always remember him. Take care of yourself Lorraine.

Haere e te rangatira Charles,
Fare well the chiefly one,
Haere ki tua o te arai,
Beyond the veil,
Ki te wahi ngaro,
Place of no return,
Ki te wahi okiokinga,
Resting place,
Ki to moengaroa,
Bed of rest,
Ki te timatanga,
To the beginning,
Ki te mutunga,
To the end,
o te ringa kaha o aitua,
Unto the almighty hand,
Ki te poho o to tatou matua nui o te rangi,
unto the bosom of the almighty,
Hei arahi,
to guide,
Hei arataki i a koe.
to lead you.
Ki a Lorraine
Kei kona te aroha me te whakaaaro

So glad to have had the honor of meeting Charlie - a true character, fireball and one of a kind. So glad my mother, Barb found Charlie and Lorraine while doing a family history seminar at Date Palm. We know he had an amazing life...and are glad he touched ours briefly. All the best Lorraine.
See you,

Charles Dunning was a most fascinating person. He never met a stranger and he would light up any room he entered. My family has known him for over 60 years and there is not one of those years that Charles and Lorraine were not living life to the fullest. The way they lived inspired me as a child to live your life with zest and and never be afraid to do something different. "Sug" you will be missed, but the world certainly knows you where here. We love you, Lorraine
