Don seemed like a very passionate man. He was my pastor in the mid seventies @ CBT. My parents used to stop by over his home many Sundays after church. He lived in an old Victorian/ tudor style home, not sure where..Maybe Gardena. I appreciated him, had good feelings that he was a genuine man; but I knew him only from the pulpit et al.

Don was my pastor as a teenager grades 7-9. I remember him having a 1957 or so Dodge convertible in which I rode with him to camp. I also remember him teaching whole books of the Bible and writing the outlines on a chalkboard as part of our Evening services. It was there I began my thirst to know the Bible.

I sure will miss you, my friend. You are very special to me. I've been looking for you but now I know that you are safe. I just looked down and there was a penny. A sign from you in heaven, I am sure.

So sorry I missed seeing the announcement in time to attend the service. Don and I go back many years in Long Beach. He was very helpful to me in many ways. To his son Don, and all the family I extend my deepest sympathy. We will all miss him.

Don was a dear friend whose wisdom I highly prized. As a colleague, he led adjunct worship services for our church for many years. He was a joyful spirit, and his gospel piano playing was always uplifting.
