Elizabeth Reich Obituary

Elizabeth Ingham Reich, after a courageous three year long battle with ovarian cancer, passed away November 12, 2013 in Palm Desert, Calif. She was a dedicated Christian who gave glory to God every day for helping her deal with the ravages of her disease. Beth, who was the youngest child of James and Joan Ingham of St. Louis, Mo., was born May 14, 1953, graduated from Mary Institute and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She began her career with Brown Shoe Company in St. Louis in 1977, managing four different territories of women's footwear. In 1987, she switched to Real Estate sales and relocation management. Beth served on several non profit boards including Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Ronald McDonald House and Mary Institute Alumnae Association. She was a lifelong member of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women. For the past four years, she served on the Board of The Lakes Country Club in Palm Desert where she loved to play golf. She was thrilled when she scored a hole in one. Beth had countless friends and will be remembered by them for her thoughtfulness, determination, graciousness, warm smile and infectious laugh! She is survived by her loving husband John Reich, her sister Missy Ingham (Marvin) Pixton of Spotsylvania, Va., her brother Jim (Marilyn)Ingham of Houston, Texas, her stepchildren Jeff, Jason and Brittnea and their families and a niece and nephew Kim and Scott Edwards. A memorial service will be held in Palm Desert, Calif. January 27, 2014 at St. Margaret Episcopal Church. Time to be determined. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Independence Fund, 290 Callaway Avenue, Pensacola, Fl 32505, Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, 14 Pennsylvania Plaza Suite 1710, NY, NY 10122, or a charity of your choice.

I loved Beth, she was my daughter Michaela's godmother and my Pi Phi sister. I'm so sorry to have just found out about Beth and will always love her and keep her in my prayers. I hope she and sweet Mckenzie are reunited.

Dearest Beth, you were such an inspiration to me and others who knew and loved you. I remember being a cancer survivor, new in town and how you helped me adjust. You reached out to many during the Christmas holidays and this year I did the same in memory of you. I placed your name at my table, in honor of you. May you sing with the angels, my friend.

So sorry to hear of Beth's passing. The last I talked with her she had a very positive attitude and was more worried about my cancer. She was a very special person, will miss her. Jack Moxley
