Herbert Isaac Faulk of Clio, CA passed away Tuesday June 21, 2016 at the age of 91 under the loving care of his wife Cynthia. "Herb" as affectionately known by most, was born March 23, 1925 in Dunmore, PA to Esther and Isaac Faulk. At the early age of 9, he moved to California and settled on Alcatraz, where his father worked as a prison guard. His family was among the first to settle on the island and this is the place where Herb cultivated many of his lifelong childhood memories. In 1943 WWII called many a patriotic volunteer to duty and Herb enlisted in the U.S. Army where he earned the Purple Heart for being wounded during combat in France.

After WWII Herb received his MBA in 1951 from Stanford University and married his first wife Betsy Pomin, with whom he had three loving children, Matthew, Nancy and Jonathan. Herb worked in retail for most of his 40 year career splitting time between Macy's and Mervyn's Department stores ending his career as District Manager of the Northwest region of Mervyn's stores.

In 1971 he married Cynthia who has been his loving wife and soul mate for the last 44 years. Herb loved Stanford Football, travel and especially playing golf. He had an insatiable appetite for reading, telling stories and most of all making people laugh.

Survived by his wife Cynthia; children: Matt Faulk, Nancy (Dave) Gotschall, and Jon (Inta) Faulk; five grandchildren: Chad, Vanessa, Gus, Hanna and Sophia; great grandchild Jesse; sister Ruth (Gale) Wyley; and "sister" Roberta Faulk (wife of late brother Edward Faulk).
