James C. Cashman

Jim Cashman, Construction Visionary, passes away at age 90.

James C. Cashman, formerly of Palm Desert, California, moved to Wolfforth, Texas with the love of his life, Ethel Goode Cashman, and his poodle, Jenny in 2011.

In 1955, Jim left his job as City Engineer of Sioux City, Iowa to pursue Land Development in California.

Jim was the President of the National Association of Home Builders. In 1975 he was honored as Builder of the Year and was the first builder to build a tract of Solar Powered homes.

He was instrumental in developing Canyon Lake and exclusive communities in the Coachella Valley.

Known as a practical joker, Jim was the patriarch of the Cashman family which included five children: Susy BC McMillen, James M. Cashman, David M. Cashman and Kevin J.Cashman. He was predeceased by daughter, Mary Cashman Usas.

He left 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00am on June 3, 2017 at Wolfforth United Methodist Church, 102 Donald Preston Dr., Wolfforth, Texas 79382, (806) 866-4200.

I was the owner of one of Mr. Cashman's first solar powered homes built in Riverside, California. My home was built in 1976. Mr. Cashman built great homes. I was extremely pleased with mine.

I am so sorry for you loss. I know he will be missed by many.
