10 years later, but will write a not anyway.
I was just looking for something else, and found a card where Ken wrote his name & address on it, from meetings in either Oklahoma or Kansas - special meetings of the Mennonite Brethren Youth. Must have been 71 or so. I have often thought of him, but didn't recall the correct spelling of his last name. A funny guy who used comedy to make the Gospel come alive for young people, apparently all across the country.

Jesus already was my Lord and Savior when I met Ken in 1964 at 14 years of age but the Lockman Foundation Amplified Bible he taught from opened subtle shades of meaning that completely changed my life and direction forever. He is greatly missed. Sadly that once great Bible that did open subtle shades of meaning is no longer in print but has been redone [yes reproduced] and is available through KCM.org. Looking forward to meeting Kenny again in heaven.

My wife and I first came to Hime Lake Camp In 1974 We went with other couples from our church! We were transformed by Kenny `s preaching! Ken and Melba became family to us! We praise God for the legacy of renewed faith that we received from the joy in Christ that we received from the love of Christ that Kenny had in his heart! We now have grandchildren that enjoy Hume Lake! Hume Lake Camps from the great legacy of love and joy and peace that we have received from God through Kenny´s preaching! Thank you, Lord, for the Poure family! We already contribute to the Camper Fund at Hume. Now, ewe will explore contributing to a fund named for Kenny Poure! Thank you, Lord, for Kenny! I was just telling my 15 yr old granddaughter Madison who was sharing her church camp experiences with me, about some of my greatest memories .
I was telling her how Ken Poure meant so much to me growing up in California and attending Hume Lake Camp.
She was sharing how much she liked her speakers and I told aboit Ken. I am 66 yrs old and today am still blessed by the life and testimony of Pastor Poure.
He related to kids in such a wonderful way. God bless your family ! I still remember his great giggly laugh!
I´m sorry that I just saw this memorial as I was looking him up.

I just now read of Kens home going March 24,2019. I am now 84 years old and I remember things Ken taught me many years ago! One thing in particular was you mean intelligence came from non-intelligence? He said this in response to skeptics about creation.

I am preparing to give a brief devotional to the men's and women's basketball team at New Hope Christian College. One of the things I will be sharing is something I heard Ken say 35 years ago at Cannon Beach conference center in Oregon. My wife and I also heard him at a family conference at First Baptist Church in Eugene in the early 70s. We have since raised our son with "the Poure method" which Ken taught us at that conference. Ken's devotion to Christ and the principles of His Word live on in the many lives he has influenced for the kingdom.

I was a teenager at Hume Lake and was so inspired by Ken in the 60's. I became a teacher and school Principal and always have drawn on his caring and love of youth. He had such a great way of working with kids and putting forth the teachings of Christ for our lives! His legacy lives on!

What a beautiful spirit in a good man with lofty goals! It was my joy to count Ken as a friend and fellow traveler with the Desert Fathers. He will be waiting for us all with that radiant smile and kind word!

I was at Biola when Ken was there. He was doing some special meetings at my dad's church in San Bernardino, CA and offered to bring me home along with his friend. He always had a smile and was so kind and helpful to everyone. He blessed so many and was a wonderful leader at Hume Lake. He will be missed but we know he is with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Our sympathy goes to his wife and family. Alice Miller Thomazin

Ken Poure had an incredible impact on so many of our lives. Another champion for Christ has been called home. We will miss him, but the impact of his life and ministry will live on the lives of the many teenagers, college students and adults that he touched with his captivating personality, his precisely timed humor and his powerful, Holy Spirit-anointed messages. May many he influenced and inspired take up the touch of ministry that's been lowered by his home-going and continue to run the race with the consistency and endurance Ken modeled for us so well.

Dear Melba,
Ken counseled me in 1955 at Thousand Pines camp when I had just received Christ. This funny and faithful man is now walking by sight in the presence of the Lord Jesus. Eagerly waiting to join you, brother. Jim Newville

Dear Melba:
I was so sorry to hear about Kenney. He was a very special man, an inspiration to me, and I will always cherish the memory of him always asking me if I had talked to Jesus today and always seeming to be up. I know how close your family is, and that love and strength will help you during this difficult time.
Please know that we are thinking of you, and our prayers are with you.
With love, Howard (Ray) and Janette.
