Lupe Moreno

1964 - 2013

Lupe Moreno, age 64, of San Diego, Calif., passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013. She was born on December 11, 1948 in Indio to her parents Jesus and Eva Moreno. She was the youngest daughter in a family of 11 children. Lupe attended the local schools in Indio, Calif., and graduated from Coachella Valley High School in 1968. She worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles for 35 years and was a cashier/controller. She worked in the Indio, San Diego, and El Cajon Offices and was respected and beloved by all her coworkers. Family and friends were Lupe's most important priorities throughout her life. Her quick wit, her generous ability to love, and her gentle acceptance of others, brought much love and happiness into her life and the lives of all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind the broken hearts of all her loving relatives and friends. Lupe is survived by her loving partner of 17 years, Sue Perry, San Diego, Calif. She is also survived by her sisters, Pat Moffat, Hanford, Calif., Tomi Rodriguez, Spring Valley, Calif., Henrietta Tiaga, Indio, Calif., Julia Moreno, Indio, Calif., and Irene Arias, Indio, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving sisters and brothers, Nellie Carlisle, Ramona Moreno, Esther Moreno, Jesse Moreno, and Daniel "Blackie" Ornelas. A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Indio, Calif. on February 8, 2013 at 3:00 pm with a reception to follow at the First Baptist Church at 82490 Dr. Carreon Blvd., in Indio, Calif.
