We had not seen Marvin in many years but learned of his fight against lung cancer in the Yale New Haven Hosp alumni magazine. It was inspiring and we were hopeful. It was a great disappointment to just learn of his passing. Sally , please accept our deepest sympathy. Dr. Robert and Susan Segaul (FT Lauderdale)

Sally, I was looking to see.how to contact you and came upon the notice of Marv's death in July. I am so sorry to hear this as I remember all the great times we had at the U of I and in the years after. I am spending a week in Palm Desert in February and, if you read this, let me know how to contact you. It would be nice to see you again. I am still at the same address in Vancouver. Janet

Dear Mother Sally, my wife Jeanette and I are very sorry for the lost of the most incredible soul I've met in my life. My life radically changed since the day I was lucky to meet your husband who calls me his son even though I am a very dark skin black man from Africa. I still hear his voice telling me: "Foli, I do care". I will always remember his legacy of unconditional love.

My partner George and I moved next door to Marvin and Sally a year ago. While working on a project I saw a dog wandering around inside our house. I followed it outside and that is when we met Marvin. We would see each other outside while he walked his dog and visited with us and the other neighbors. He was a very charming man and we will miss those visits

I was fortunate to have Dr. Brooks as my doctor from his very first group of patients in his original Palm Desert office between 1950 and 1960. He was a friend/doctor and positive influence throughout my life, even recently getting me in to USC Medical Center for reconstructive bowel and bladder surgery.
He was very special.
God bless his soul.

Dr. Brooks first of all was a gentleman, classy, compassionate.
SECONDLY, he was a very kind physician, cared about his patients.
It never mattered what time nurse's called Dr Brooks he was always very patient, would listen carefully then give his orders.
He will be missed.
My sympathies to his Wife and children.
